The Wisconsin Badgers released their weekly preliminary injury report on Monday ahead of the coming weekend’s road match-up with the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Wisconsin lists redshirt junior quarterback Alex Hornibrook as questionable after he left Saturday’s win over Rutgers with a head injury. Second-year player Jack Coan stepped up against the Scarlet Knights, and with a renewed rushing attack in the third quarter, helped lead the Badgers to three second-half touchdowns in the 31–17 win.
If Hornibrook cannot go, Coan will be the starter and see action in his third game of the season. The number of games he plays is something to watch due to the NCAA’s new rule regarding redshirting. Coan can retain a redshirt year this season if he plays in up to four games.
Other Badgers questionable for Saturday’s match-up include starting safety Scott Nelson (right leg), cornerbacks Deron Harrell (right leg) and Travian Blaylock (right leg), and reserve fullback Mason Stokke (left leg).
Senior nose tackle Olive Sagapolu (right arm) is out.
Safety D’Cota Dixon (right leg), offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen (left leg), and defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk (left leg) were taken off the injury report for this week. All were questionable in last Thursday’s updated injury list.
