2019 LB Skyler Meyers commits to Wisconsin

Make that two scholarship commitments from this weekend.

Wisconsin will have another projected linebacker in its class of 2019, as Blue Springs, Mo. (South) recruit Skyler Meyers verbally committed to the Badgers on Sunday.

BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara reported on Sunday that Meyers officially visited Wisconsin this weekend, with 247Sports’s Allen Trieu noting that the young ‘backer received the offer during his trip to UW.

247Sports rates Meyers as a two-star prospect, with Rivals listing 17 offers for the Missouri product. Air Force, Army, Colorado State, Navy, Wyoming, and South Dakota State, among others, have reportedly extended opportunities at the next level.

Meyers’s Hudl profile lists him at 6’2, 215 pounds and as an outside linebacker/defensive end. For what it’s worth, he is listed at 6’3, 200 pounds by 247Sports and 6’4, 210 by Rivals. Judging off of his midseason highlight tape, he can make plays in the backfield and also track down ball carriers once they make their way past the line of scrimmage.

Meyers is the third known verbal commitment for Wisconsin this weekend, as Sussex, Wis. (Hamilton) athlete Jackson Kollath and Lincolnshire, Ill. (Adlai Stevenson), linebacker Maema Njongmeta both announced their collegiate decisions on Saturday. Both Meyers and Njongmeta are apparent scholarship opportunities, while Kollath confirmed with B5Q on Saturday afternoon that he will be a walk-on.

There are now 15 verbal scholarship commitments for Wisconsin’s class of 2019. Meyers joins these potential future Badgers:
