No. 6 overall seed Wisconsin volleyball defeated UW-Green Bay at the Field House on Thursday 25–9, 27–25, 25–15 to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Badgers hit .293 while holding UW-GB to just .030, including -.073 in a dominant first set. The Phoenix nearly claimed set two before Wisconsin rallied back to win the final three points of the set.
Outside hitter Molly Haggerty double-doubled with 10 kills and 15 digs. Middle blocker Tionna Williams had five blocks and setter Sydney Hilley had 36 assists.
Wisconsin takes on Pepperdine, winner of a five-set classic against Northern Iowa in the other first-round match, Friday night at the Field House. Match starts at 7 p.m.
