The premier college football all-star game had a scout in attendance in Madison for the Wisconsin Badgers’ win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday.
Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy posted a few videos from his Twitter account on showcasing several Wisconsin seniors. While fullback Alec Ingold garnered some praise from Nagy earlier this season, the chance to see the Badgers up close and personal elicited some high praise from Nagy, a long-time NFL scout in his first year as director of the Senior Bowl.
The @seniorbowl is looking live at @RFootball vs. @BadgerFootball. Wisconsin #63 Michael Dieter (@MichaelDeiter) is a check-all-boxes 4-year starter with experience at LT, LG, and C. Same guy every tape. Reminds us of Zack Martin (@Cowboys), who came to Mobile and dominated. pic.twitter.com/R472CS45bz

Few NFL teams are using FB these days and in order for them to justify a roster spot they need to be athletic enough to be core STers. Athleticism won’t be an issue for @BadgerFootball FB #45 Alec Ingold (@AI_XLV). Former HS QB and 4-year wrestler. He will be on a 53 next year. pic.twitter.com/P1Gd9JY0Yi

.@BadgerFootball consistently produces NFL starting OL and #66 Beau Benzschawel (@BeauBench) will be another. The NFL values durable OL and today’s his 45th straight start. Scouts tend to get concerned when interior OL are 6050+ but Beau (6061) bends good enough to play guard. pic.twitter.com/jBe7EKtlQX

A great opportunity for value picks is RB that are stuck behind another talented runner, like when UDFA Priest Holmes backed-up Ricky Williams at Texas. @BadgerFootball has that situation this year with RB #28 @Taiwan_Deal stuck behind soph Jonathan Taylor. He’s on NFL radars. pic.twitter.com/cGx5AwwIaq

.@BadgerFootball has 3 legit LBs for the @seniorbowl. We posted @TJEdwards8 and @rconnelly12 earlier in fall so today we’re focused on #17 @AndrewVanGinkel. Plays OLB but NFL scouts want to see him rep at ILB in Mobile. Has made big plays on the ball and also has rush skills. pic.twitter.com/HXrmTDMDBa

There’s a group of undersized DS this year that are all good players—Miami’s Jaquan Johnson, BC’s Lukas Denis, and @BadgerFootball #14 @DcotaDixon1. The concern for NFL teams projecting HWS deficient DBs is ST value. Dixon is at least urgent and agressive enough to contribute. pic.twitter.com/CSQqg6jD0C

In 2015, the Badgers sent Joe Schobert to the Senior Bowl. 2016 featured Corey Clement and Vince Biegel. 2017 was Garret Dooley and Troy Fumagalli. Expect three or more of this season’s Badgers to end up in Mobile.
