2020 PG Lorne Bowman Jr. commits to Wisconsin

Commit No. 1 for the next recruiting cycle for the Badgers.

Some good news heading into the weekend for Wisconsin recruiting, as 2020 point guard Lorne Bowman Jr. announced on Friday that he verbally committed to UW.

Bowman hails from Detroit, Mich. (St. Mary’s). Both 247Sports and Rivals currently list the guard at 6’2 and 180 pounds but do not have a star rating assigned to him yet despite seven offers from programs like Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska and Buffalo, among others.

Both recruiting services note that he visited Wisconsin at the beginning of the month with Bowman announcing that the Badgers offered him on Nov. 2.

Bowman is the first commit for head coach Greg Gard and his staff for the class of 2020, one that will be interesting to watch with the such talented targets like in-state five-star recruit Jalen Johnson and others.
