No. 8 Wisconsin volleyball knocks off Purdue, Indiana

The Badgers won an epic match against the Boilermakers and swept Indiana.

No. 8 Wisconsin volleyball finished its regular-season home slate in style over the weekend, knocking off No. 12 Purdue in an epic, five-set match on Friday and sweeping Indiana on Saturday.

The Badgers (18–6) rallied back from a two-set deficit on Friday, defeating Purdue 16–25, 22–25, 25–23, 25–14, 15–10.

After a slow start on offense, Wisconsin rallied back to hit .419 in the critical third set, finishing .235 for the match. They cooled off the Boilermakers, holding the visitors to .179, .149, and -.040 in the final three sets.

Sophomore middle blocker Dana Rettke led the way with 16 kills. Libero Tiffany Clark continued her strong play with 25 digs. Sophomore setter Sydney Hilley had 59 assists.

Saturday was Senior Night as well as the last regular-season match at the Field House in 2018. Wisconsin sent the fans home happy, sweeping Indiana 25–21, 25–14, 25–22.

Wisconsin hit .294 for the match, while Indiana managed just .175. Hilley had a double-double (40 assists, 13 digs) while Rettke led the way with 10 kills. Senior Tionna Williams had 10 kills and three blocks.

Wisconsin finishes the regular season on the road, heading to Ohio State and Maryland next weekend before traveling to Rutgers and Penn State after Thanksgiving.
