It appears the Wisconsin Badgers received another verbal commitment, another lineman, for their 2020 class.
According to reports from WisSports.Net’s Travis Wilson, 247Sports’s Evan Flood and BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara, Stratford, Wis., lineman Ben Barten verbally committed to Wisconsin on Saturday.
247Sports and Rivals both rate Barten as a three-star prospect, with 247Sports composite rankings designating him as the No. 54 offensive tackle in the nation.
Both recruiting services list offers from Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota State.
Barten’s Hudl profile lists him at 6’6, 255 pounds, with the big man playing tackle, defensive tackle and defensive end.
That makes four verbal commitments for Wisconsin’s class of 2020, all of them linemen. That includes in-state projected offensive linemen Jack Nelson (Stoughton) and Trey Wedig (Kettle Moraine), along with St. Charles, Ill. (East) product Dylan Barrett.
ICYMI: Stratford (WI) 2020 OL/DL Ben Barten gave a verbal commitment to Wisconsin on Saturday. Remains to be seen which side of the ball he'll end up on at UW. He joins Stoughton OL Jack Nelson & Kettle Moraine OL Trey Wedig in an impressive big man group committed to UW in '20.
