Overlooked and unappreciated to start the year, Wisconsin men’s hockey made some noise this weekend, sweeping then-No. 12 Boston College 3–0 on Friday and 7–5 on Saturday.
Friday saw junior goaltender Jack Berry shut out the Eagles, stopping all 29 shots he saw. Freshmen K’Andre Miller and Mick Messner scored their first goals as Badgers and sophomore Tarek Baker added a third in the win.
Saturday was all offense as the teams combined for 12 goals, including five in the second period. Baker got his second of the year, while sophomore defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk lit the lamp twice and sophomore Linus Weissbach, senior Will Johnson, sophomore Sean Dhooghe, and freshman Brock Caufield all scored for the Badgers. Berry looked much worse for wear, but the Eagles finished a combined -21 on the day.

With the sweep, the Badgers went from unranked to No. 15 in Monday’s USCHO poll, joining fellow Big Ten squads No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 6 Minnesota, No. 10 Penn State, and No. 11 Michigan.
Wisconsin heads to upstate New York this weekend to take on Clarkson on Friday in Potsdam and St. Lawrence in Canton on Saturday.
