Wisconsin men’s basketball team hoops it up with UW-Madison students

Some fun and games before the season begins.

Yeah, Big Ten basketball media day was Thursday, but that did not stop the Wisconsin men’s basketball team from having some fun with UW-Madison students late in the afternoon.

Organizing on the blacktop courts near UW’s Sellery Hall, the Badgers squad met up with students for some hoops action and more. #AreaRED, the student section organization for both football and basketball, tweeted highlights from the event.

It all appeared to start during the mid-afternoon, when Wisconsin sent messages on Twitter and Instagram about the impromptu gathering to start at 5 p.m. CT at Sellery Hall, one of the dorms in the southeastern portion of the campus area.

It appears UW students enjoyed their time interacting with the team on a closer level.

Wisconsin kicked off practices on Sept. 27. The Swish Upon a Cure event for Garding Against Cancer is scheduled at the Kohl Center on Monday at 3 p.m. CT. Local media day is set for Oct. 17 and B5Q will be there.
