Wisconsin offers four-star 2019 LB J.D. Bertrand

The recent Georgia decommit is getting quite the attention.

The Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff continues to reach out to find the pieces to its class of 2019, as Roswell, Ga. (Blessed Trinity) linebacker J.D. Bertrand announced on Tuesday night that UW offered him.

247Sports, ESPN and Rivals all designate Bertrand as a four-star recruit, with 247Sports composite rankings rating him as the No. 312 player and No. 16 outside linebacker in the nation.

Both 247Sports and ESPN list him as an outside linebacker, with Rivals noting him as an inside ‘backer.

Bertrand recently made news in de-committing from Georgia back on Oct. 5. On Tuesday, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported that the prep standout visited Florida last weekend and will take in Notre Dame on an unofficial this upcoming weekend.

Wisconsin currently holds a verbal commitment at outside linebacker from high three-star recruit Spencer Lytle.

Casey to announce decision on Thursday

Also looking at the linebacker positions for this class, Louisville, Ky. (Ballard) linebacker Jared Casey will announce his decision on Thursday.

Wisconsin, Oregon, Louisville and Kentucky are his top four schools in contention for his collegiate services. will be in Madison this weekend. He is a four-star recruit and the No. 16 inside linebacker in the nation according to Rivals.
