Wisconsin offers 2019 five-star WR Kyle Ford

Badgers go big for the California wide out.

The Wisconsin Badgers still hope to add on to its class of 2019 recruiting cycle, and on Sunday, Orange, Calif. (Lutheran) wide receiver Kyle Ford announced that the Badgers extended an offer.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Ford is a five-star recruit, the No. 5 wide receiver and the No. 30 player in the country. Both ESPN and Rivals list him as a four-star recruit, with those recruiting services designating him as the No. 48 and No. 59 player in the nation.

247Sports lists 27 offers, Rivals 31 for Ford; among them USC, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon and Washington. 247Sports’ crystal ball predictions and Rivals’ “FutureCast” both denote the Trojans as the favorites.

Unfortunately, Ford’s senior prep season is reportedly cut short due to a torn ACL.

Some of Wisconsin’s current verbal commits already put social media to use on Sunday and Monday. For what it’s worth, Ford retweeted the messages from linebacker Spencer Lytle and quarterback Graham Mertz.

There is a connection between Ford and Mertz, as the two participated on the same team in The Opening Finals in early July.

What happens next with Wisconsin offering relatively later in the recruiting cycle obviously remains to be seen.
