With Super Bowl LII taking place in Minnesota this week, some former Wisconsin Badgers are enjoying a fun fact about the program’s most beloved relic that has not been seen in the Gopher State for quite some time.
(Fourteen years to be exact, but who’s counting?)
A little earlier on Wednesday, former Wisconsin and current Philadelphia Eagles safety Chris Maragos tweeted a picture of Super Bowl helmets in what appeared to be a locker room setting.
Having a keen eye with the “Ski-U-Mah” mantra seen in the photo, former B5Q reporter/walk-on basketball enthusiast Curt Hogg quote-tweeted Maragos and asked a simple question pertaining to the location of a particular axe.
The former Wisconsin walk-on and team captain, who was also named a team captain this season for the Eagles, kindly responded.
Been looking everywhere...still no luck. ♂️ ♂️ Keep you posted on any updates

Current Philadelphia teammate and former Wisconsin defensive tackle Beau Allen, returning home to Minnesota to play in arguably the biggest game of his career, saw the tweets and also wanted to confirm his observations.
I haven't seen any sign of it either

Earlier in the week, Allen made a similar joke when in a Twitter discussion with Barstool Sports and Pardon My Take’s Dan “Big Cat” Katz on Monday.
I would but the axe never comes to MN

Jokes about Paul Bunyan’s Axe not being in Minnesota were not just made by professional athletes, but by another media member with B5Q affiliations—that being WGN Radio and Bucky’s 5th Quarter’s founder/godfather Adam Hoge.
Heading into a “Goldy’s Locker Room” location, well, the rest is history:
Tried to find Paul Bunyan’s Axe in here but they weren’t familiar with what I was talking about. pic.twitter.com/vvfQsj5Rpx
