No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball wins HotelRed Invitational

The Badgers swept Texas A&M to remain perfect on the season.

The perfect season continues for No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball.

Wisconsin kept its winning streak alive Saturday night with a victory over Texas A&M at the Field House in the final match of the HotelRed Invitational. Wisconsin upended the Aggies in three sets, 25–19, 25–23, 25–10, to extend its sets-won streak to 21 straight, tied for seventh-best in program history. The Badgers have yet to drop a set in 2017.

After stifling Lipscomb on Thursday, Wisconsin continued its stellar defense against the Aggies. Junior middle blocker Tionna Williams led the Badgers with six blocks. Freshman middle blocker Dana Rettke and redshirt sophomore Madison Duello each had four blocks as Wisconsin held Texas A&M to just .077 for the match, including a .029 third set.

Rettke led Wisconsin with 12 kills, while Williams added eight and senior Kelli Bates had six. Freshman setter Sydney Hilley had 34 assists for the Badgers.

Wisconsin hosts Marquette and Southern Mississippi in the Badger Classic next weekend in the final matches of non-conference play. The Badgers get the Golden Eagles first, Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Field House.
