No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball kicked off the 2017 HotelRed Invitational with a win.
Starting a short week after a long western road trip that saw Wisconsin win the K-State Invitational, the Badgers returned home Thursday against a surprisingly spry Lipscomb, sweeping the Bisons 25–19, 25–19, 26–24 to win the first game of the HotelRed Invitational. Wisconsin has now won six straight matches without dropping a set.
It was a defensive showcase for Wisconsin as the Badgers tied a school record with 16 blocks. Junior middle blocker Tionna Williams led the way with 11 blocks and 10 kills. Wisconsin limited Lipscomb to .066 for the match, including .023 in the first set.
