Wisconsin freshman setter Sydney Hilley is on a roll.
After an opening week that saw Hilley grab a Big Ten Setter of the Week award, the Brooklyn Park, Minn., native snared another accolade after No. 6 Wisconsin swept three teams on its way to a K-State Invitational win this past weekend.
Hilley, who did not make a hitting error all weekend, was named Big Ten Freshman of Week on Tuesday. The freshman was strong in the first-round match against Syracuse (34 assists, .333) before dropping 41 assists on both Arkansas and host Kansas State.
A top-five recruit nationally coming into the season, Hilley is hitting .684 and averaging 13.00 assists per set in Wisconsin’s first five matches. She has been error-free in two matches already, including against then-No. 11 North Carolina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge last weekend.
