Another former Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver gets a shot in the NFL.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Monday night that they signed Robert Wheelwright. A source told B5Q that the former Wisconsin wideout signed a one-year contract.
Wheelwright initially was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent after the NFL Draft in late April, but was later cut by the NFC East organization in mid-May.
The 6’3, 202-pound Wheelwright played in 47 career games for Wisconsin with 18 starts. He finished his Badgers career reeling in 69 receptions for 890 yards and six touchdowns.

From our report of Wheelwright signing with the Giants back in April:
Wheelwright played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl this past January after Wisconsin’s 24-16 victory over Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl. At Wisconsin’s pro day in mid-March, he ran a 4.54-second 40-yard dash, 4.11 20-yard shuttle, and 6.68 three-cone drill. He also registered an impressive 38” vertical jump and 10’8.5” broad jump.
