Natrell Jamerson bench presses 405 pounds; Wisconsin target Jeremy Ruckert commits to Ohio State

405 pounds is... a lot.

Patrick Barron

Senior Natrell Jamerson switched to his third position as a Wisconsin Badgers student-athlete this past spring. The Ocala, Fla., native came to Madison a wide receiver, moved across the line of scrimmage to cornerback, and presumably now will spend his final season as the starting free safety.

It appears Jamerson has been training hard for a big 2017 season. On Monday, he shared a video showing off a personal-record 405-pound bench press.

They gone wake up this year I promise... that's 405lbs if y'all can't count @bleacherreport

That’s pretty darn impressive.

Jamerson’s emergence at free safety would solidify a secondary that lost Sojourn Shelton and Leo Musso from last season. Hawaii transfer Nick Nelson should also fill in as a starter at cornerback alongside Derrick Tindal.

Two Badger targets commit elsewhere

It wasn’t a surprise, but top prep tight end Jeremy Ruckert committed to Ohio State on Monday afternoon over Wisconsin, Michigan, and Notre Dame via an admittedly entertaining Bleacher Report video.

Ruckert, one of the nation’s top recruits, joins an impressive Ohio State class of 2018. Wisconsin does have a verbal commitment in this class from Michigan standout Jaylan Franklin, who is projected to play tight end for the Badgers.

In class of 2019 news, Cade McNamara verbally committed to Notre Dame on Monday afternoon. McNamara held an offer from Wisconsin, but it appears the Reno, Nev., native will play his collegiate career in South Bend.
