A redshirt freshman will not be on the 2017 Wisconsin Badgers football roster.
Defensive end Jake Hescock has been granted his release from UW to transfer to a different program, a UW official confirmed to B5Q. Badger247’s Evan Flood first reported the news of the 6’7, 250-pound lineman’s departure, with the Wisconsin State Journal’s Jason Galloway also reporting the move.
Hescock, a Pittsfield, Mass., native, came to Wisconsin as a four-star tight end per 247Sports and a three-star recruit by Rivals, Scout, and ESPN. The Class of 2016 prospect played tight end in his first season but recently moved over to defensive end.
Hescock told Badger247 he has not chosen his next collegiate program.
Earlier this year, fellow 2016 recruit Dallas Jeanty left the Badgers and is now with the Naval Academy.
