Another year, another impressive tournament for the Wisconsin Badgers to play in.

Head coach Greg Gard and his 2017-18 squad will join the likes of Baylor, Creighton and UCLA in Kansas City, Mo., for the 2017 Hall of Fame Classic from Nov. 20-21, UW announced on Tuesday.

The four-team extravaganza will take place at the Sprint Center starting with the semifinal rounds on Nov. 20, and championship/consolation games the day after. ESPN’s network of channels will air the four games. The actual matchups and start times will be confirmed down the road.

The tournament will be part of a “Hall of Fame Weekend” that includes the 12th annual National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which takes place a day prior to the semifinals on Nov. 19.

In the past few seasons, Wisconsin has played in the Maui Jim Maui Tournament (2016-17), 2016 2K Classic (2015-16), 2014 Battle for Atlantis (2014-15) and Cancun Challenge (2013-14).

Here’s the official release from the Wisconsin athletic department:

MADISON, Wis. – For years the Wisconsin men’s basketball program has been invited to compete in some of the game’s top non-conference tournaments and UW’s 2017 event should be among the most competitive. Announced Tuesday, Wisconsin will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, to participate in the Hall of Fame Classic alongside top programs Baylor, Creighton and UCLA on Nov. 20-21 at Sprint Center.

All four participants have spent time in the top 10 of the AP poll this season.

The Hall of Fame Classic will be the culminating event of college basketball’s Hall of Fame Weekend, which also includes the 12th-annual induction ceremony for the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. That event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland in Kansas City.

The semifinal rounds of the tournament will be held on Monday, Nov. 20. The finals will take place the following day, Tuesday, Nov. 21, beginning with the consolation game, followed by the championship game. All four contests will air on an ESPN network.

The complete bracket, including matchups and television times for the 2017 Hall of Fame Classic, will be announced at a later date.

About the Hall of Fame Classic

The event is named after the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, featured at the College Basketball Experience, the award-winning and highly interactive college basketball fan facility adjacent to Sprint Center. Opened in October 2007, the College Basketball Experience is the nation's only facility that celebrates, in its entirety, the sport of men's collegiate basketball. The tournament, in partnership with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), was initially established in 2001 as the Guardians Classic.
