What a day for the Wisconsin Badgers and their 2018 football recruiting cycle.
Menomonie, Wis., outside linebacker Mason Platter committed to Wisconsin on Monday. WisSports.net’s Travis Wilson first reported the news, with both Badger247’s Evan Flood and BadgerNation.com’s Ben Worgull also confirming.
That’s the third known verbal pledge for head coach Paul Chryst and his staff in one day, as both Waukesha Catholic Memorial’s C.J. Goetz and Kimberly’s Boyd Dietzen announced their commitments earlier on Monday.
Like both Goetz and Dietzen, Platter earned a Badgers offer on Sunday. Earlier in the month, he also received an offer from Northern Illinois.

Despite not currently being rated by 247Sports, Rivals and Scout, Platter’s Hudl film boasts a 6’5, 222-pound recruit who was an all-conference selection at outside linebacker.
Platter is the sixth commit for Wisconsin’s class of 2018 (and the fourth in-state verbal pledge) with Dietzen, Goetz, River Rouge, Mich., defensive back Reggie Pearson, Menasha, Wis., safety Trent Ingalls and La Grange, Ill., quarterback Ben Bryant.
