It appears head coach Paul Chryst and his Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff are looking at a familiar program in California for the class of 2018.
Wisconsin offered Santa Ana (Mater Dei) wide receiver Nikko Remigio, the recruit announced on Twitter on Monday.
Remigio, listed between 5’10 and 5’11 on the four major recruiting websites, is rated a three-star prospect by 247 Sports’ composite rankings and a four-star by Rivals and Scout. According to MaxPreps, he hauled in 46 passes for 758 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2016 season.
The Scout 300 wide receiver (No. 263 player overall in the nation) boasts an offer list of intriguing Power Five programs interested in his collegiate services—which according to Scout includes Pac-12 programs Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, UCLA and USC, along with Tennessee. Rivals also shows offers from Boston College, Nebraska and Oregon State.

There’s a good reason why major programs are looking at Remigio. His Hudl film shows a player who can separate from defenders, create yards after the catch and has a willingness and interest in blocking defensive backs—essential for being a wide receiver in Wisconsin’s offense.
Mater Dei is the same school that produced Wisconsin tight end Kyle Penniston and nose tackle Olive Sagapolu. Both contributed in 2016.
