The Wisconsin Badgers will head into their in-state match-up with the Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday short-handed, as two major contributors will be sidelined.
The UW Sports Medicine Staff announced on Saturday that guards D’Mitrik Trice and Kobe King “will be out indefinitely” due to injuries to the foot and knee, respectively.
On Monday, Trice will have surgery on his right foot with rehab starting in two to three weeks. The 6’0 177-pound sophomore has started all 10 games this season and is third on the team in scoring (9.4 points).
King, who is out against Marquette due to a left knee injury, became a significant player off the bench early on. The true freshman is averaging 19 minutes and 5.2 points per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field.
Fellow guards Brevin Pritzl and Brad Davison, along with the rest of the Badgers, will have to step up in a rough situation starting against the Golden Eagles this weekend. Wisconsin announced Pritzl moved into the starting lineup to replace Trice on Saturday.
