Just when many thought the Wisconsin Badgers were finished with their class of 2018, a new recruit appears on the radar.
Gardena, Calif. (Junipero Serra) wide receiver John Jackson III tweeted on Tuesday that Wisconsin offered him.
Listed between 6’1 and 6’2 and between 180 and 195 pounds depending on which recruiting service you look at, Jackson is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports (composite and standalone), ESPN, and Rivals.
247Sports lists offers from Southern California, UCLA, BYU, Oregon, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Navy, among others.
Wisconsin already has verbal commitments from the likes of A.J. Abbott, Isaac Guerendo, and Taj Mustapha, with potentially Aron Cruickshank heading to that position group as well.
Guerendo, for that matter, claimed the IndyStar Mr. Football position award for wide receiver for the state of Indiana, as the Indianapolis Star noted he caught 54 passes for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Stay tuned for more as the crazy time of recruiting season begins to take fold.
More in-home visits
Lincoln, Neb., defensive lineman Bryson Williams has become the hot talk after being offered by new Huskers head coach Scott Frost. Now, Wisconsin defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield stopped by his house for an in-home visit, which appeared to be on Wednesday evening.
Head coach Paul Chryst made his way down to Miami for the Capital One Orange Bowl press conference, but before that, he and running backs coach John Settle stopped to see cornerback commit Donte Burton.
Wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Ted Gilmore made his way to Texas to visit another cornerback commit in Travian Blaylock.
