It’s a fifth straight trip to the Sweet 16 for Wisconsin Badgers volleyball.
The Badgers upset overall No. 14 seed Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday to advance to the third round of the NCAA tournament.
Wisconsin hit .317 for the match, holding the Cyclones to .231. Big Ten Freshmen of the Year Dana Rettke led the way with 15 kills, hitting .520 for the match. Fellow first-year Grace Loberg continued her strong play with 13 kills, hitting .303. Freshman setter Sydney Hilley had 41 assists and added two blocks.

Wisconsin heads to the Sweet 16 to take on overall No. 3 seed and reigning national champion Stanford in a rematch of last year’s regional final. The Pac-12 champion Cardinal finished the regular season 26–3 and boasts the Pac-12’s Player of the Year (Kathryn Plummer), Setter of the Year (Jenna Gray), and Libero of the Year (Morgan Hentz).
