Badger Bits: Catching up with Wisconsin in Miami

Orange Bowl

A day after Christmas, the No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers continued their preparation for the No. 11 Miami Hurricanes and the Capital One Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.

Wisconsin practiced at Barry University in Miami Shores on Tuesday, just a few days away from the New Year’s Six Bowl game against its ACC opponent.

For those on Instagram, be sure to check out the team’s page for more pictures and videos, including stories with the likes of running backs Jonathan Taylor and Chris James.

The team also revealed the potential “swag” players could receive from being a part of the game. Check out the video below:

On Tuesday, the team also participated in a Big Brothers, Big Sisters event at a Dave & Buster’s.

D’Cota Dixon

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus wrote a great article that was published on Christmas Eve about Florida natives Derrick Tindal and D’Cota Dixon returning to their home state to play in the Orange Bowl.

One aspect of that story included Dixon attempting to reconnect with his birth mother, whom Potrykus noted he had not “seen for at least a decade.”

Well, it appears that has now changed.

Dixon delivered an update via his Instagram page yesterday:
