The highest-ranked commit according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, the Wisconsin Badgers will have the opportunity to develop a physical and productive inside linebacker in Jack Sanborn.
The only Illinois native in the class of 2018, Sanborn verbally committed back in March. Now, the Top247 standout will be able to hone his craft under the guise of inside linebackers coach Bob Bostad and some talented teammates at the position like T.J. Edwards (potentially, if he does not declare for the NFL Draft), Ryan Connelly, and Chris Orr.

Verbally committed on Mar. 22, 2017
At the time, Sanborn was the eighth player to pledge to Wisconsin’s class of 2018. From Andrew Rosin’s look at Sanborn from March:
Sanborn is a highly active, sideline-to-sideline presence for Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Ill. The Hudl tape above shows someone who has comfort in playing downhill against the run and playing laterally in space. He can also fight off a block and make the play through the trash.
That was just based off of his junior film. His senior highlights showcase the same characteristics Rosin noted earlier this year, and among prep competition, he appeared to flourish and make some timely hits against opponents as well.
According to 247Sports, Sanborn held offers from Wiscosnin, Duke, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Northwestern, among others.
