One of the foundations of the Wisconsin Badgers’ success since the early 1990s is keeping its best prep players inside the state’s borders. Head coach Paul Chryst and his staff has done so in this class of 2018, especially with the likes of securing the commitment of Waukesha, Wis. (Catholic Memorical) outside linebacker C.J. Goetz.
Goetz earned all-state honors in both his junior and senior years while claiming the John Anderson Award as the “most outside senior linebacker in Wisconsin” during a 2017 campaign that allowed him to tally 118 tackles, 18 for loss.
Wisconsin currently views him as an outside linebacker.

He jumped on the offer to play for the Badgers the day after receiving it, giving Wisconsin the then-fourth commit of the class of 2018.
