Wisconsin football recruiting: 2019 OL Joe Tippmann commits to Badgers

Make that five commits early on for the next recruiting cycle

With the early signing period for the 2018 class starting on Dec. 20, the next recruiting cycle for the Wisconsin Badgers is already shaping up to be promising.

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Bishop Dwenger) offensive lineman Joe Tippmann verbally committed to Wisconsin on Saturday evening. The class of 2019 prospect made his announcement via Twitter.

Listed at 6’6 and 283 pounds on his Hudl profile, Tippmann is a four-star recruit by 247Sports and a three-star prospect by Rivals. According to 247Sports, he also received offers from Indiana, Iowa, Purdue and Cincinnati.

Tippmann is now commitment No. 5 for an early class of 2019 for head coach Paul Chryst and his coaching staff that includes the likes of Grantsburg, Wis., athlete Leo Chenal, Overland, Kan., quarterback Graham Mertz, Kentwood, Mich., offensive lineman Logan Brown, and Menomonee Falls, Wis., running back Julius Davis.
