RB Bradrick Shaw, TE Zander Neuville out for rest of season before Wisconsin faces Ohio State

The Badgers’ offense will be without two contributors for the rest of the year.

Two more offensive contributors for the Wisconsin Badgers are officially out for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Wisconsin officially released its final injury report before the Big Ten Championship Game against Ohio State, with tight end Zander Neuville and running back Bradrick Shaw now listed as out for the rest of the season.

Both Neuville and Shaw were injured during Saturday’s win at Minnesota and were initially designated as questionable on Monday’s preliminary injury report. Head coach Paul Chryst said during Monday’s press conference that both would have MRIs earlier this week.

Neuville’s loss is substantial for a rushing attack that is second in the Big Ten behind Ohio State in yards per game (243.3) and boasts the conference’s leading rusher in true freshman Jonathan Taylor (1,806 yards). The former walk-on also caught nine passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns.

Redshirt sophomore tight end Kyle Penniston, along with fullbacks Austin Ramesh and Alec Ingold, provides some insurance in terms of options Wisconsin has in personnel to make up for the absence of Nevuille.

Shaw ranks second on team in rushing yards (365) on 3.8 yards per carry with four rushing touchdowns. Contributors like Garrett Groshek (297 yards, two touchdowns) and a re-emerging Chris James (217 yards, 5.6 yards per carry) will have to again step up to rotate in with Taylor at running back.

Wisconsin downgraded reserve outside linebacker Noah Burks to out for the conference title game after he suffered a left leg injury against Minnesota.

In brighter news, safety D’Cota Dixon (right leg) is now officially off the injury report after initially being listed as questionable. He has played in the last two games against Michigan and Minnesota, with redshirt senior Joe Ferguson starting four of the last five games for him.
