For the second week in a row, No. 1 Wisconsin women’s hockey nabbed a weekend series against a top-10 team.

Last week, the Badgers (14–0–0, 8–0–0–0) swept Minnesota on the road. No. 4 Ohio State came to LaBahn Arena this weekend with the same result.

Saturday, Wisconsin blitzed the Buckeyes 7–0, dealing Ohio State its first loss on the year. Six different Badgers scored, with sophomore forward Alexis Mauermann grabbing two goals in the blow-out victory.

The Wisconsin offense poured 42 shots on Buckeyes goaltender Kassidy Sauve, including 20 in the first period, leading to three goals. Redshirt sophomore goaltender Kristen Campbell stopped 14 shots in the win.

Wisconsin completed the sweep Sunday, defeating the Buckeyes 3–1.

Junior defender Mikaela Gardner, Mauermann, and redshirt senior forward Claudia Kepler staked the Badgers out to 3–0 lead before Ohio State pulled a goal back late.

Wisconsin continued its offensive explosion, putting 50 shots on Sauve in the game. Campbell made 21 saves in the victory.

Wisconsin heads to Ithaca, N.Y., this weekend to face off against a tough Cornell team. Puck drops on Friday at 2 p.m.
