Wisconsin football recruiting: 2019 RB Julius Davis commits to the Badgers

Make that four commits already in the class of 2019.

Menomonee Falls, Wis., running back Julius Davis committed to Wisconsin Badgers on Tuesday. The class of 2019 recruit announced his decision via Twitter.

Davis is currently ranked a three-star prospect with an 88 rating and the No. 29 running back in his class from 247Sports (non-composite). He received the offer from Wisconsin this weekend while visiting Madison and made that accolade public on social media on Saturday.

He also held an offer from Buffalo while also recently visiting Iowa.

According to WisSports.net, Davis ran for 1,762 yards and 17 touchdowns on 6.9 yards per attempt. That includes five 200-yard games in his junior year.

The running back is listed at 5’11, 190 pounds on his Hudl profile, and his junior highlights show you cannot simply arm tackle him. He can make defenders miss, and against this competition during the 2017 season, the back showed he could outrun in-state opponents in the open field.

Davis is the fourth commit for the class of 2019, joining the likes of athlete Leo Chenal, quarterback Graham Mertz and offensive lineman Logan Brown.
