Wisconsin football recruiting: 2019 OT Logan Brown commits to Badgers

The class of 2019 gets a cornerstone left tackle a.k.a. Boom Baby.

While the Wisconsin Badgers have been effective at evaluations to a point where they have put themselves into their current position as a playoff-worthy team, fans naturally want to find someone with star quality coming to their school.

For the class of 2019, the Badgers landed themselves a tremendous pickup on Sunday when high four-star Grand Rapids, Mich. (East Kentwood) offensive tackle Logan Brown committed to Wisconsin after the 24–10 victory against the Michigan Wolverines.

If you look at Brown’s highlight reel, you can see exactly why he’s so well regarded. He’s a knee-bender with good agility, which allows him to be a tailor-made left tackle as he’s not going to get bulled into a quarterback. When you add to that the motor and the power being listed at 6’6, 285 pounds provides? It goes without saying that he’s got the skills to be a cornerstone talent. You can view more of Brown’s tape on his Hudl profile.

Add to that the metatextual good feelings of going into Michigan and earning the commitment of a star-level prospect with strong interest in donning the maize and blue of the Wolverines (with additional offers from Alabama, Ohio State, and Penn State among others), and it’s easily one of the better recruiting days the Badgers have had on the recruiting trail.

In terms of rankings, Brown is ranked by the top recruiting services as follows:

  • 247Sports (composite): Four stars, 0.9648 rating, No. 76 national, No. 7 OT, No. 3 MI
  • 247Sports: Four stars, 93 rating, No. 88 national, No. 10 OT, No. 2 MI

Brown joins athlete Leo Chenal and quarterback Graham Mertz as the current members of Wisconsin’s class of 2019.
