ESPN College GameDay coming to Madison; Wisconsin-Michigan set for 11 a.m. CT

An early kickoff and some national guests with an undefeated season on the line.

Well, this should provide some interesting timing next weekend for college football fans in Madison.

ESPN College GameDay announced it will return to Madison again for next Saturday’s match-up between the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan Wolverines. The well-known college football pre-game show came into town last October when Wisconsin faced Ohio State and also ventured up to Green Bay when the Badgers faced LSU in the 2016 season opener.

Details for this year’s extravaganza have not yet been set, though last year the ESPN show took place on Bascom Hill with famous professional wrestler Ric Flair as the guest picker. Aaron Rodgers held that designation for the Lambeau Field show.

This past weekend, the Big Ten Network’s BTN Tailgate set up shop at Gordon Dining and Events Center.

Also on Saturday night, it was announced next week’s game against Michigan will not be a late-afternoon game, but rather an 11 a.m. CT start. It will be televised on FOX.

It should be interesting how this affects the crowds next weekend wanting to take in the popular show while also trying to make it to the early kickoff on time.
