Wisconsin basketball recruiting: Michigan PF Taylor Currie commits to Badgers

Another future Badger signs up for 2018.

The Wisconsin Badgers and men’s basketball coach Greg Gard landed their second commit for the class of 2018 on Tuesday night.

Clarkston, Mich., power forward Taylor Currie announced on Twitter that he verbally committed to Wisconsin.

“I’m grateful to announce I’m a Wisconsin Badger! Thank you Coach Gard & Coach Oliver for the opportunity! #OnWisconsin” Currie wrote.

Ranked a three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals, Currie decommitted from Michigan on Sept. 29. He received offers from Wisconsin and Xavier.

The three recruiting services—247Sports, Rivals, and Scout—all report Currie will sign with Wisconsin in November. He is the No. 197 player in the nation and No. 44 power forward, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, which list him at 6’8, 200 pounds.

Currie joins Hopkins, Minn., center Joe Hedstrom as the two members of Wisconsin’s class of 2018.
