The Wisconsin Badgers already have two verbal commitments for the class of 2019.
Head coach Paul Chryst and his coaching staff just got their first for the class of 2020 on Monday night.
Stoughton, Wis., offensive tackle Jack Nelson announced on Twitter that he verbally committed to Wisconsin. Scout.com’s Allen Trieu and Badger247’s Evan Flood also confirmed the verbal pledge.
“I am very excited to announce that I have verbally commited [sic] to continue my academic and football career at UW-Madison. #OnWisconsin,” Nelson tweeted.
As has been noted by multiple services, Nelson is a Wisconsin legacy. His father, Todd, played for the Badgers on the offensive line.
Listed at 6’6, 245 pounds on his Hudl profile, he is currently unranked by all the major services. According to BadgerBlitz.com and Badger247, Nelson was offered by Wisconsin while visiting during the Maryland game, a 38–13 win on homecoming weekend.
