No. 10 Wisconsin started the season right on Sunday, knocking off Michigan Tech 3–2 at the Kohl Center.
Junior forward Will Johnson kicked off the scoring with a rebound poke past Huskies goaltender Patrick Munson just under six minutes into the first period.

Freshman forward Linus Weissbach netted his first career goal as a Badger five minutes later, beating Munson with a wrister stick side.

After Michigan Tech pulled one back, Weissbach once again put the Badgers up by two, beating Munson with a gorgeous shot off a Ryan Wagner pass.

The Huskies managed to close the gap to one, but it was not enough as the Badgers hung on for the win.
Graduate transfer goaltender Kyle Hayton won his first game as a Badger, finishing the game with 20 saves.
The Badgers face Ohio State this weekend at the Kohl Center. Puck drops Friday at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.
