MADISON — The No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers released their final injury report on Thursday before this weekend’s match-up against Illinois.
One name that was taken off Monday’s preliminary report was redshirt senior defensive end Chikwe Obasih.
Head coach Paul Chryst confirmed Obasih will make the trip to Champaign and will dress for the divisional game against the Illini.
“He’s cleared and ready to go if we need him,” Chryst said, “and I’m sure there’ll be some points where we can get him in, but he’s not going to carry a big load either.”
The amount of reps Obasih receives may be limited. Chryst was asked about the potential boost the 6’3 275-pound lineman, who played in one game this season before his left leg injury, could bring.
“I think there’s a boost just with guys, as last week he really wasn’t practicing, guys knew that he was coming. And certainly to be able to start practicing, it was good. He still hasn’t played in a long time,” Chryst said. “But Chikwe is a guy—a lot of guys on this team like him, and they respect him and appreciate what he’s done to this point in the season, and I think we’re all looking forward to him getting back on the field.”
Kicker P.J. Rosowski (right leg) remains questionable, while wide receiver Danny Davis (left leg) and running back Chris James (left leg) were downgraded to out against Illinois.
