Wisconsin basketball recruiting: Joe Hedstrom commits to the Badgers, per reports

UW adds another commitment for the class of 2018.

The Wisconsin men’s basketball class of 2018 received another commitment on Wednesday night.

Hopkins, Minn., center Joe Hedstrom verbally committed to the Badgers, according to multiple reports.

247Sports, Rivals, and Scout have Hedstrom at 6’10 and between 200–225 pounds, with 247Sports rating him a three-star recruit. Scout noted he had offers from the likes of Utah, Boise State, North Dakota State, and others.

Hedstrom reportedly accepted a four-for-five deal, with the Minnesota prep standout walking on during the 2018-19 season then being placed on scholarship the next four. According to Badger247’s Evan Flood, Hedstrom actually committed to the Badgers on Tuesday night but publicly committed a day later.

Hedstrom is the second commitment for the class of 2018, joining highly-touted guard Tyler Herro.
