Josh Seltzner’s Hudl highlights

Columbus, Wis., 2017 offensive lineman Josh Seltzner announced his verbal pledge to Wisconsin via Twitter on Thursday.

Back in July, WisSports.net’s Travis Wilson reported Seltzner received a preferred walk-on offer along with current UW preferred walk-on commits Hunter Johnson (Darlington, Wis.), Jake Collinsworth (Merrill) and Michael Balistreri (Milwaukee).

BadgerBlitz.com’s Jon McNamara confirmed Seltzner’s status of walking on Thursday evening. The first-team all-state selection by the WFCA received scholarship offers from FCS programs Indiana State and North Dakota in yet another example of an in-state player turning down a scholarship to play for Wisconsin.

Be sure to check out BadgerBlitz.com and BadgerNation.com’s articles on the 6’6, 300-pound Wisconsin recruit.

Seltzner joins quarterback/outside linebacker Coy Wanner, linebacker/tight end Ethan Cesarz, wide receiver/defensive back Sam DeLany and defensive tackle Michael Balistreri as Wisconsin prep standouts who committed to UW in a walk-on capacity recently. That’s now 10 known preferred walk-ons in the Badgers’ class of 2017, which includes Seltzner, Wanner, Cesarz, DeLany, Balistreri, quarterback Danny Vanden Boom, running back Hunter Johnson, offensive lineman Matt Hennigsen, linebacker Jake Collinsworth and kicker Collin Larsh.
