LSU coach Les Miles has suspended offensive guard Josh Boutte one game for his late hit on Wisconsin’s D’Cota Dixon, per an announcement from the school.
The statement, released via the program’s Twitter account, explained, "this play does not define Josh as a person and is not indicative of the type of player her is. We sincerely apologize for his mistake." It also noted that Boutte called Dixon this morning to apologize. The full statement is below:

Boutte blindsided Dixon after the Wisconsin safety had intercepted LSU quarterback Brandon Harris to secure the Badgers’ 16–14 upset of the No. 5 Tigers.
LSU takes on Jacksonville State on Saturday, while Dixon and the Badgers host Akron.
