If you love Wisconsin, writing, and the internet, Bucky’s 5th Quarter wants you

Finally, college football season is just around the corner. Right around the corner.

In order to continue making Bucky’s 5th Quarter the best place on the internet for free Wisconsin Badgers coverage, analysis, and discussion, we’re looking to expand our staff.

We’re happy to talk with anyone interested in contributing to the site, but we’re specifically seeking writers who can help with breaking news and smart, informed, entertaining opinion writing (especially on Wisconsin football and basketball, as well as recruiting in both). Those with interests such as advanced stats, X’s and O’s, beer/bar reviews, lifestyle content, and anything else are also welcome to reach out to us.

Here’s what we’re looking for in potential staff members:

• Ability to write, research, and develop story ideas without much “hand-holding” or supervision
• Comfort using social media to find story ideas, engage with readers, and promote B5Q content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
• Passion for Wisconsin athletics
• Ability to meet mutually agreed-upon deadlines

If you have a journalism or writing background, that’s awesome. If not, that’s fine, too. If you’re passionate and knowledge about UW athletics and interested in helping, we’ll find a role for you.
