Since January, the Badgers have found themselves going after the targets they want and finding their way into winning most every battle. It's been a good year and on Friday, the Badgers added themselves an interesting cornerback in Kernersville (East Forysth), N.C., prospect Madison Cone.
The three-star recruit announced in an unique fashion, revealing his verbal commitment via the Greensboro News & Record:

Cone is listed at 5'8.5 and 177 pounds and has a 4.52 40-yard dash time. Despite his height, his on-field play earned offers from Duke, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech, among others. It remains to be seen if Cone's on-field game translates to the Big Ten, but his Hudl profile shows a prospect who can leap, high-point the ball and stick to receivers man-to-man. He shows the football smarts and doesn't take false steps. He's rather impressive on the field.
The Badgers are not yet done at cornerback, as they wait on a ruling from admissions on Hawaii transfer Nick Nelson and made a recent offer to Delray Beach, Fla., cornerback Datrone "Speedy" Young. Cone is the 10th known verbal commitment for head coach Paul Chryst and his coaching staff for the class of 2017.
