The Wisconsin Badgers offered Tampa (Tampa Catholic), Fla., athlete Devan Barrett on Saturday, as the four-star recruit announced the offer via Twitter.
Barrett has a stacked offered list of national powerhouses, including Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, LSU, Auburn and Florida State, among many others. How head coach Paul Chryst and his coaching staff fare in his recruitment should be interesting.
Judging by his Hudl highlight film, there's a reason top-tier programs have taken notice of the Florida standout. Against high school competition, Barrett has breakaway speed and a great first cut that allows him to get into space. He's also shown to get to the edge as well.
The 6'1, 190-pound Barrett is ranked highly by the recruiting services for the class of 2017, including the following:
- Rivals: No. 63 overall in the nation, No. 2 athlete
- Scout: No. 239 nationally by Scout.com, No. 20 athlete
- 247Sports composite rankings: No. 250 overall, No. 17 running back.
