LSU vs. Wisconsin kickoff time set

The hugely anticipated season opener at Lambeau Field draws closer and closer.

Wisconsin and LSU will open their 2016 seasons Sept. 3 at Lambeau Field, home of the NFL's Green Bay Packers. On Tuesday, ESPN finally set the kickoff time for the game: 2:30 p.m. CT. ABC will carry the national broadcast, meaning the Badgers will open their season on the network for the second consecutive year.

While not a night game, the 2:30 p.m. kickoff still allows ample time for tailgating. Needless to say, the atmosphere should be incredible considering the presence of two big-name programs squaring off in one of the NFL's most historic stadiums. Plus, Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez has already said he "thinks" ESPN will bring its College GameDay crew, making the game the most marquee of college football's incredible Week 1 slate.

Four kickoff times are now known for Wisconsin's 2016 schedule, as a 2:30 pm. time was announced last week for the homecoming game vs. Illinois on Nov. 12. Previously, we learned Wisconsin will have two primetime Big Ten home games this season -- the first time it will have even one since 2011.
