The Wisconsin Badgers have returned to the Sweet 16 for the third consecutive year and will get their chance to advance Friday evening against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 6:27 p.m. CT in Philadelphia.
The No. 7 Badgers defeated Pittsburgh in the opening round of the NCAA tournament before a riveting win over No. 2 Xavier at the buzzer last Sunday. Now, Wisconsin faces a No. 6 Notre Dame team that also comes off a late win, after the Irish knocked off Stephen F. Austin with a late tip-in on Sunday. Notre Dame first defeated Michigan in the opening round.
