West Sayville, N.Y., quarterback Jack Coan committed to the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday evening. He announced his verbal pledge via Twitter.
Coan, a 6'3, 190-pound prospect, is a composite three-star recruit and the No. 18 pro-style quarterback according to 247Sports' composite rankings, but is rated a four-star, ranked No. 215 overall and is the No. 10 pro-style quarterback by Rivals. Scout.com hails Coan as the No. 31 quarterback overall and a three-star recruit.
The New York signal caller visited Wisconsin last week during the beginning of UW's spring practice sessions, while also taking trips to Nebraska, Boston College and Northwestern recently. He was also offered by Michigan, Miami, West Virginia and Maryland.

Per 247Sports, Coan threw for 3,431 yards and 40 touchdown passes during the 2015 season. He is the fifth known verbal commitment for head coach Paul Chryst and Wisconsin for the class of 2017.
