Eric Burrell from Owings Mills (McDonogh School), Md., gives the Wisconsin Badgers some much-needed help at the safety position following the graduation of 2015 starters Tanner McEvoy and Michael Caputo. Burrell figures to be one of a number of players battling for playing time at safety. His size makes him a more likely fit to play free safety and the Maryland product is a player to look out for in the coming years.
Burrell (5'11, 170 pounds) committed in the fall after an Oct. 3 visit for the Iowa game. The loss to the Hawkeyes seemed to have little effect on Burrell, as he chose the Badgers over an impressive list of suitors. Burrell took a visit to Nebraska, while Arizona, Boston College, Syracuse, Iowa, Maryland and Virginia Tech all showed interest at one point or another.
