National Signing Day 2016: OT Patrick Kasl signs with Wisconsin

For National Signing Day we are profiling each recruit that signs with Wisconsin, including OT Patrick Kasl from Forest Lake, MN. Stay tuned to B5Q all week for more coverage of Badger football's 2016 class.

Forest Lake Senior (MN) 3-star recruit3-star recruit3-star recruit No. 43 OT

Patrick Kasl is one of the most intriguing players in this class for Wisconsin. In a class that's heavy in the trenches, Kasl is being looked at as a major sleeper, and potential steal for the Badgers. With the frame to add some significant size, Kasl is an underrated athlete for someone as big as he is. Kasl has the highest SPARQ score of any OT in this class per ESPN. Don't be surprised if Kasl redshirts this upcoming season, as Wisconsin still has incredible depth on the offensive line.

Verbally committed June 15, 2015

Anytime the Badgers can beat out the Gophers for a Minnesota kid, it's a good deal. The Badgers also edged out Eastern Michigan, Vanderbilt and a bevy of FCS schools. Minnesota, Purdue and Northwestern also reached out to Kasl, but his commitment ended his recruitment pretty early.

He was one of multiple commits from last June that was a major building block for the beginning of this class. Kasl, as I mentioned earlier is a big time athlete for his size and is being billed as a major sleeper for Wisconsin.
