Photos: Wisconsin women's hockey falls short in OT vs. Minnesota

The teams split the season series two games apiece.

Wisconsin came back from a 3-1 deficit to force overtime, but the Gophers scored with just :54 left in the extra frame to secure the win Saturday in Minneapolis.

For the Badgers, senior Erika Sowchuk slipped a backhand behind the goalie in the first, Junior Sarah Nurse crashed the net and helped for a puck in in the second and sophomore Annie Pankowski tied the game in the third period on a penalty shot.

Wisconsin out-shot Minnesota 13-4 in the final period, but could not snatch the win.

The two teams split the season series, each winning their respective home games.

Both teams will host the first round of WCHA playoff games at home next weekend.
