USA Today announced its 2016 American Family Insurance All-USA State teams on Wednesday, recognizing the top football players in each state based on “their athletic achievements from the 2016-17 season.”

Wisconsin fans should be excited to see many future Badgers recognized.

Coan was named first-team all-state, along with running back Jonathan Taylor (New Jersey), defensive back Madison Cone (North Carolina) and 2018 defensive back Reggie Pearson (Michigan).

In the state of Wisconsin itself, the first-team honorees include a plethora of players who will don the cardinal and white in the future:

  • RB Hunter Johnson (walk-on)
  • TE Jake Ferguson
  • OL Logan Bruss
  • OL Kayden Lyles
  • OL Tyler Beach
  • OL Alex Fenton
  • DL Aaron Vopal
  • DB Trent Ingalls (2018)

Menominee Falls defensive lineman and UW walk-on commit Matt Hennigsen was named second-team all-state.
